TRANS.SCRIPT Centre and The Faculty of History and Philosophy (Babeș-Bolyai University) are pleased to announce the organization of the YRI summer school Turning a New Leaf. Unexplored Central-European Bookscapes (1500-1800), which will take place in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), from 21 to 25 July 2025.
Designed specifically for Young Researchers and Innovators, this academic event combines theoretical training with hands-on workshops, creating a dynamic learning environment. The program brings together selected participants and trainers for an intensive series of lectures, workshops, and collaborative activities aimed at offering interdisciplinary insights into both the physical and intellectual dimensions of early print culture.
This event is part of the COST Action 23137 Print Culture and Public Spheres in Central Europe (1500–1800), a European scientific network dedicated to the study of print culture and forms of public communication in Central Europe.
This Summer School is a collaborative initiative of Working Group 4 – “Materialities” (coordinated by Adinel C. Dincă, PhD Habil. Associate Professor) and Working Group 5 – “Text and Ideas”, who developed the program specifically to address the immediate needs and interests of early-career researchers working in this field.
